What’s up with me lately? Well I must say I have had a love/hate relationship with photography lately. I still love photography but I hate the photographer’s block I get at times. I know the only way to get to the other side of the block is to push through it. So here’s my attempt at pushing:

Well, that’s about as long as I can stay focused right now. I’ll be back once I get these photos organized. I’m so excited to show you my newest project.

Sliders and some clarity

I was monkeying around in Lightroom and discovered the slider on the clarity option. Or whatever I’m trying to say. Sometimes I get bold and mess with all of the settings but a lot of times I don’t always see a difference. Tonight I discovered the clarity adjustment that makes photos look like soap opera lighting. For lack of a better subject…check out these romantic light bulbs and the plain old light bulbs. Yep, just light bulbs.

The times they are a changing

May I just start out this post by posing this question…Daylight savings time. Why? I feel like I’ve been jet lagged since Saturday night. It’s only one hour. How can it have such and effect on my body like this. I’m a zombie. And by the time I get equaled out, it will be time to fall back again. Time flies whether you’re having fun or not. Thank God, I am having fun.

So I was reading on some photography hacks, which I nearly enjoy as much as photography itself. I really get a kick out of coming up with things on the fly or making do with stuff I already have. I needed a lightbox and I searched online for ideas and found one guy who used a white fabric hamper from Ikea. And guess who just happened to be at Ikea this weekend?

Here’s the setup.

I was going to test out the lightbox with an orange but my assistant decided to check out the box a little more closely. Since he was sitting still I thought I’d snap a few pet headshots. It just might be the next big thing

Checking the light.

Test shot. I know you can see my redneck reflectors. The orange was just a distraction to make the cat think I wasn’t photographing him, thus, catching him with his pants down.

The jig is up. No GQ shoot for Coolio. Aaaand he’s done.
